Boil water alert in Genesee County

Created: 03/14/2014 10:45 PM WHEC.com

Some Genesee County residents are under a boil water advisory Friday night.

According to the website NY-Alert, residents in the areas of the Batavia - Oakfield Townline Rd and Lewiston Road, are to boil their water until Monday March 17th.

Officials say it’s due to possible manure contamination of drinking water wells. If you think you your water might be contaminated, officials say stop using it in your house immediately, unless you’re flushing your toilets.

If you have any questions, you can call the Genesee County Health Department at 585-344-2580 extension 5525 for more information, during normal business hours.
