If you are getting ready to take part in the St. Patrick's Day on Saturday, here's all the information you need to know for the parade.
The parade starts at 12:30 p.m. at the corner of East Avenue and Alexander Street. Marchers will proceed down East Avenue to Main Street. At Main, they will turn left and proceed down Main Street, over the bridge, ending at Plymouth Avenue.
If you need a place to park downtown for the parade, here is a list of garages you can use. The fee at each garage will be $7.
You can also look for private lots, where you might find a better spot for a little less cash.
City crews worked hard Friday and early Saturday to clear a majority of the snow along the parade route, and now most sidewalk areas have been completed cleared.
For a complete list of marchers, you can click here. But the parade is divided up into 15 divisions, featuring everyone from local firefighters and police to local business and public officials.
If you are taking a bus on Saturday, RTS will be making temporary changes to its schedule on Saturday because of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
All RTS buses traveling along East Avenue and East Main Street will make detours due to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Johnny’s Runnin’ of the Green 5K. Downtown bus lineups will be moved temporarily from East Main Street and Clinton Avenue to Main Street and Chestnut Street.
Route 18/19 will detour beginning at 9:00 a.m. All other routes will begin detours at 10:30 a.m. Routes will return to normal at 3:30 p.m.
