Helping support the young people in our community: that was the goal of the annual Gala for The Center for Youth.
Attendees from across the community came together Saturday night to show their support for Rochester’s Center for Youth. The group’s annual fundraising Gala was held at the Monroe Golf Club.
Organizers say the Center helps provide services to children and teens that are homeless or in need. Funds raised at Saturday’s Gala help expand programs like emergency shelter, transitional housing and school-based activities. We’re told that over 20-thousand teens and children across Monroe County use those services every year.
Elaine Spaull, the Center’s Executive Director, says the organization works to try to keep families together.
“A night like tonight is our way of saying thank you to so many people, and raising a fair amount of money, we hope $50,000, to really make a difference in our world,” said Spaull.
News10NBC’s Nikki Rudd was the emcee for Saturday’s event.
