NBC’s "The Voice" heats up tonight with the battle rounds.

It's the second night of team battle rounds where the singers go up against the other members of their teams and it’s bringing one local woman closer to her dream of a recording contract.

Ddendyl Hoyt grew up in Castile, Wyoming County. Her audition was enough to impress Shakira and make her spin around her chair and ask Hoyt to join her team.

Tuesday night, the teams will get a little help from performers Jill Scott, Miranda Lambert and The Band Perry.

The Voice starts at 8 p.m. on News10NBC.
