Lieuwen to make first NHL start with Sabres Tuesday

Nathan Lieuwen was in disbelief after making his unexpected NHL debut in goal for the Sabres on Sunday. He better start believing because the 22-year-old will make his first career start Tuesday in Calgary.

Lieuwen has been forced into the starting job after injuries suffered to both of Buffalo’s goalies. After being called up from Rochester on Saturday, Lieuwen turned away all ten shots he faced against Montreal.

He will face plenty more against the Flames Tuesday.
