It was game on at Nazareth College Wednesday. Both students with and without learning disabilities hit the court to give their best shot. It’s part of a program through the Special Olympics of New York.

Organizers say it is a win-win for both types of students because it brings everyone together to learn from one another.

Robin Mitchell, New York State Special Olympics, said, “This program is really important because it is a mirror of what’s happening in schools right now, which is to promote that inclusive environment by bringing together children with and without disabilities to show we have more in common that we do different.”

More than 50 students took part Wednesday and we’re told there will be several other events like this at colleges throughout the state later this year.
