Thieves have come up with a new phone scam, targeting people with MasterCard credit cards.
According to police in Cayuga County, the scam involves a recorded message that says your MasterCard has been locked due to fraudulent activity. The message then tells people to “press one” to unlock the card.
If you get this record, police say hang up. Police say it is a scam. Do not give out any of your personal information during the call.
