Students and a school bus driver had some terrifying moments Thursday.

The students were on their way home from school when the driver began experiencing some type of health condition. Witnesses say the driver stopped the bus in the middle of street on Broadway and started motioning for help.

A woman passing by says she could hear the children inside the bus yelling for someone to call 911.

Brittani Hardgers said, “The bus was in the middle of the intersection, throwing him down the street.”

The driver was taken to the hospital. There’s no word yet on his condition. However, the Rochester Police Department is investigating the incident.

The bus company, "First Student" released a statement saying, "Safety is our top priority, and upon being notified of the incident, we acted quickly to request emergency assistance, notify the school and provide another bus to continue the route. The students were transported safely to their destinations and the incident is currently under investigation."
