An 18-month old baby is recovering after being attacked by a dog in Groveland, Livingston County.
Sheriff’s deputies say a woman called 911 screaming Thursday morning. 911 dispatchers sent emergency crews to the home and when sheriff’s deputies arrived, they found an 18-month-old baby, who had a dog bite to the face.
The baby was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital. There's no update on the baby's condition, but police say the injuries are not expected to be life threatening.
Sheriff’s deputies say the mother of the baby was also taken to the hospital. Sheriff’s deputies say she had a bite on her arm after she went in to stop the attack. Police say a second dog was also involved and had started fighting with the first dog.
The two dogs have been euthanized.
