As a music teacher accused of stealing instruments for drug money appeared in court, Keshequa School District leaders were deciding on her future.

After days of silence from Keshequa Central School District officials, the superintendent released a statement Friday. Danielle Conner-Willowglade has been placed on administrative leave.

Jessica Cordes, parent, said, “I’m a little upset. I think they should start drug testing.”

Jessica Cordes has serious doubts about her school district.

Cordes said, “We’ve honestly talked about home schooling and maybe bringing him out of the school. If they’re going to have teachers like that, why would I want my son around that?”

Keshequa Superintendent Donald Covell released a statement. The statement discusses the plan they have to help the students. Superintendent Covell says, “A very competent and former employee of the Keshequa District will be serving as a substitute for Ms. Conner for the remainder of the current school year.” The superintendent also said the district can’t comment because this is a significant personnel matter.

But everyone is wondering will the students have enough instruments to play at their concert which is coming up.

State Police say Danielle Conner-Willowglade admitted to taking 50 instruments.

Investigators have recovered more than half. There’s a fundraiser online to help pay for new instruments for the kids. To check it out, click here.
