Two men were injured overnight following two shootings on the north side of the city.
Rochester police say the first shooting happened around 11:20 p.m. Friday night on Portage Street between Clifford and Fernwood avenues.
Officers tell News10NBC a man tried to hit a 23-year-old man with his car and then afterwards shot at him. The victim sustained one gunshot wound to the mid-body. He was transported by Rural/Metro Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injures, according to police.
Hours later, just before 2:15 a.m. Saturday morning, another man was shot outside a tavern on Hudson Avenue near Agnes Street. Police say the victim and suspect were standing outside the tavern when the shooting happened. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the lower body. He was also taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by Rural/Metro. with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
Police say both investigations are on-going and ask anyone with any information regarding either shooting to call 911.
