A familiar face is taking over the job as top cop in the town of Greece. Captain Patrick Phelan will be sworn-in next Monday. He's a 25 year veteran of the Greece Police Department.

You might recognize his name because his father was also a chief.

Integrity is what soon-to-be Greece Police Chief Patrick Phelan says he'll focus on every day in the town of Greece.

Phelan grew up here. He's a graduate of Aquinas and joined Greece Police Department in 1989.  Since then, he rose through the ranks as sergeant, lieutenant and captain. Now he can add chief to that list.

Phelan is taking over for Chief Todd Baxter, who is leaving to become the executive director of the Veterans Outreach Center.  Baxter took over for disgraced former Chief Merritt Rahn, who served 28 months in prison for evidence tampering.

Many of the questions to the next chief focused on how Phelan plans to improve the image of the Greece Police Department.

A swearing-in ceremony is planned for next Monday.
