It is a major milestone to rename the Brockport post office after a fallen hero. Congresswoman Louise Slaughter says a bill in honor of Staff Sergeant Nicholas Reid passed the House and is now headed to the Senate.

Reid, who was from Brockport, was killed in Afghanistan in December 2012 by an improvised explosive device. He received numerous medals, including the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal.

Reid was just 26 years old.
