The trial date has been set for a former Rochester City Police captain accused of shooting his son to death.

According to the Batavia Daily News, the trial for Michael Leach will take place in June. Investigators say the 59-year-old shot his 37-year-old son, Matthew, in July 2012. Leach told police he thought his son was an intruder in the motel room where they were staying.

If convicted, he faces 25 years to life in prison.
