Rochester man in custody following bank robbery on West Main Street

Rochester Police have arrested a man who they say robbed a bank in downtown Rochester Tuesday morning.

The robbery happened at the Northwest Savings Bank on West Main Street just after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say 51-year-old Walter Gonzalez, of Rochester, handed a teller a note and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was arrested a short time later and charged with robbery and grand larceny.
