Former Police Chief James Sheppard starts new job

Former Rochester Police Chief, James Sheppard, has a new position. 

He will be the Program Administrator for the New Beginning School. It’s a partnership of the Rochester City School District and the Center for Youth.

It is open to young men, who have had an encounter with the criminal justice system. This alternative program aims to reduce recidivism and increase the number of students who graduate. The City School District provides academic support, while The Center for Youth staff delivers mentoring, life skills training, referral services and workforce readiness and leadership opportunities.

Sheppard will start his position in April.
