A Farmington man who pleaded guilty to sexual abuse has learned his punishment. Sean Smith was sentenced to five years in prison followed by 10 years of supervised release.

Prosecutors say the five years is a harsh sentence and added that he'll be a registered sex offender when he gets out and will be watched closely. They also noted Smith's guilty plea saved the victim from having to testify.

Smith admitted last month to having sexual contact with a six-year-old girl at the Jack and Jill Daycare in Victor. He was an employee there for about six years.
