Addressing issues in our community to enact change is the goal of the third annual report card event by ACT Rochester.
It provides an update on the well-being of Rochester’s nine-county region. Thursday’s focus was on moving the community to action and improving the poverty in the city of Rochester.
Organizers say, in order to improve our area, we need to target very specific issues and take a deeper look at them.
Ann Johnson, ACT Rochester Director, said, “If you even go deeper and look at the rate of poverty by our children, our female heads of household with children under 18, Hispanics and our African Americans you see another area that is inequitable.”
Some key points addressed at the event including housing and rental affordability, home ownership and a change in salaries.
