According to two state lawmakers, Rochester is set to receive more money from New York State.

Assembly Minority Leader Joe Morelle and Senator Joe Robach, who are in Albany working on the state budget, say the city will be receiving an additional $6 million in state aid. That's on top of the $88 million dollars already in the original budget proposal.

This money is for the city to combat its chronically high poverty rate.
