State Assembly Majority Leader Joe Morelle made a big announcement for our area Saturday.

Morelle says $33 million in the budget is going toward building a new manufacturing plant in Batavia. It's called the Stamp Project.

Morelle says this new project could bring thousands of jobs to our area. "It provides enormous opportunities. This is something that could create as many as 10,000 jobs in western New York, the Finger Lakes region. It's something we've worked on for a number of years, and I'm very, very pleased that the Governor and the legislative leaders have agreed to include in in the legislature that will go before the legislature on Monday.

Lawmakers are expected to return Sunday to discuss the bill and vote on Monday.
