The town of Greece has a new police chief. Former captain Patrick Phelan was sworn in as the top cop. He replaces Todd Baxter, who is taking a job with the Veteran's Outreach Center.

Phelan has been a member of the Greece Police Department since 1989. On Monday, Phelan thanked the men and women of the Greece Police Department for their integrity and professionalism. He says, together, he believes they can make the department great again.

He also had a message for people who live in Greece.

Patrick Phelan said, "I will embark on this endeavor with a single task in mind, to provide the citizens of Greece with the best police service possible and we will provide that service with integrity and professionalism. It's our privilege to serve the residents of the town of Greece."

Phelan's father was also chief of the Greece Police Department in the 80's and 90's.
