The Red Wings landed in Rochester Monday morning for the first time this spring. The Wings will head out on Friday for Buffalo.

Rochester is coming off a season in which they went to the playoffs for the first time since 2006. Gene Glynn is back for his third year as manager. He has injected life into this team, one that expects to be back in the playoffs.

Doug Bernier, Red Wings, said, “Coming from sunny Florida, we heard it was cold. We were trying not to believe our weather apps and stuff, but as we got closer to Rochester, we could see all the snow coming in. We said, ‘alright here we go, it's another baseball season.’"

Gene Glynn, Red Wings Manager, said, "Even though it was quite a shock as we were flying in, seeing all the snow, I know as I mentioned before, we were taking a lot of pictures, but the guys are ready to go."

The Red Wings will open their season at Frontier Field on Saturday at 2:05 p.m.
