Thousands of trout released in Irondequoit Creek

This weekend’s snowstorm has become a bit of headache for some preparing for the Reidman Foundation Opening Day Trout Derby.

On Monday morning, thousands of brown and rainbow trout raised at the fish hatchery in Powder Mills Park were released into Irondequoit Creek.

The derby starts Tuesday morning at Powder Mills Park in Perinton.
