Coming together to help victims of child sexual abuse on their journey to heal is the goal of a memorandum signed Wednesday at the Bivona Child Advocacy Center.

Representatives from 21 partner agencies working with Bivona formally signed the document. Officials say it demonstrates the community's commitment to collaboration through different services; ensuring children get the best standard of care.

Mary Whitter, Bivona Child Advocacy Center, said, "It is reaffirming that the best standard of care is to bring any child who has been sexually abused to our organization so that they can really get comprehensive services by people that are trained experts in this field."

This is one of many events throughout the month of April that Bivona, along with the National Children’s Alliance, will bring attention to the issues of child abuse and promote intervention.
