Opening statements will begin Monday morning in the trial of the woman accused of buying the guns used to attack and kill firefighters in the 2012 Christmas Eve ambush in West Webster.

Investigators say Dawn Nguyen bought the guns for William Spengler. Officials say he then used them to kill two firefighters and injured two more while they responded to a fire that he set.

Attorneys say finding enough impartial jurors and alternates may be challenging.

If convicted, Nguyen faces up to four years in prison and she still faces federal charges which carry more serious penalties.
