State democratic leaders have selected their candidate for the 134th State Assembly seat.

Retired Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy Gary Pudup announced his candidacy Friday morning. He was with the sheriff’s office for 29 years.

Former Assemblyman Bill Rielich gave up his seat to run for Greece Town Supervisor, which he won. So far, there's no word yet on a republican candidate for the Assembly seat.
