The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says the driver of a car was arrested after his car hit a tractor-trailer early Saturday morning.
Deputies say they responded to a report of a crash on West Henrietta Road near Brooks Road around 2:45 a.m.
When they arrived on scene, deputies tell News10NBC they found a tractor-trailer and a car had been driving southbound on West Henrietta Road when the tractor-trailer attempted to make a U-turn at Brooks Road. When he attempted the U-turn, investigators say a car driven by 34-year-old Michael Lehman, of Honeoye Falls, hit the trailer and became wedged underneath.
Deputies say Lehman was trapped in his car and had to be removed with the help of firefighters. He was removed and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Deputies say Lehman has been charged with driving while intoxicated.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was also charged with failure to yield the right of way. He was not injured.
Officials say the crash caused the tractor-trailer's fuel tank to crack, spilling diesel fuel onto the road. The road was closed from about 2:45 a.m. to 5:45 a.m. as the Henrietta Fire Department worked to cleanup the scene.
