2 NYC police officers critical after fire

Two New York City police officers are in critical condition after responding to a fire in a Coney Island building.

A police spokeswoman says the two were caught in smoke that filled the building on Surf Avenue just after noon on Sunday. Both were unconscious.

One officer was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center, the other to Jacoby Hospital.
