Put the cell phone away when you’re driving. State Police are out to catch you if you don’t. Troopers are cracking down on drivers who are using mobile devices.

“Operation Hang Up” will be in effect Thursday April 10 through Tuesday April 15. State Police are keeping a close eye on the Thruway and other roadways.

If you’re caught and it is your first offense, the maximum fine is $150.
