It was a final warning to the owners of the Medley Centre, and it came from County Executive Maggie Brooks during her annual State of the County address Wednesday night.

Brooks said she would give owner Scott Congel until May 1st, to make whatever payments are owed, or she would work to cancel the P.I.L.O.T, and also take legal action.

"To say it's been a frustrating six years for all parties involved is an understatement. And now the developer faces a final deadline to make all payments due, which is May 1," said Brooks.

Brooks also announced the new Office of Public-private Accountability, which would monitor and review agreements that use both public and private resources.

A nationwide search is on for its director.
