An arrest has been made in the case of “Jack Frost” -- the pit bull mix that was left inside a Rochester home, emaciated and nearly frozen.
Humane Society investigators have arrested Kevin L. Williams on animal cruelty charges. Williams is charged with torturing and injuring an animal and failure to provide sustenance.
Investigators say on January 23, Rochester Animal Services contacted the Humane Society about a dog who was surrendered to the shelter the previous day. The dog was severely emaciated and reportedly nearly frozen. News10NBC is told the investigation determined that Williams, the dog’s owner, was responsible for his condition.
Williams is due in court on May 5. The charge of animal cruelty can lead to a sentence of one year in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.
Rescued Treasures Pet Adoption is currently taking care of Jack Frost.
