Michael Ciminelli to be sworn in as Rochester Police Chief

Rochester Police Chief Michael Ciminelli will officially be sworn into office at a ceremony Saturday morning.

Ciminelli was named top cop by Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren last month.

Ciminelli graduated from Buffalo Law School and served as an assistant district attorney for Monroe County from 1988 to 1991. After making the switch to policing, he served as Elmira Police Chief for six years. With the Rochester Police Department, he's been a homicide investigator, sergeant, commander and most recently, deputy chief of administration.

The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. at the Public Safety Building.
