It's a chance to enjoy the warm weather and get in some fishing!

Monday kicks off the 6th annual Intergenerational Fishing Day, which begins at 8 a.m. at the Powder Mills Park in Pittsford.

The event, hosted by County Executive Maggie Brooks, allows students of all ages to learn about fishing and the environment from biologists from the state's Department Of Environmental Conservation. DEC officials will host a fishing technique workshops at 7:45 and 10:45 a.m. The Monroe County Fishing Advisory Board will donate 100 fishing rods to the youth participating in this year's fishing day. The event also allows participants to fish in the park without a license until noon.
