A 63-year-old Gates man is facing charges after police say he claimed to be a police officer.

Joseph Larocca is charged with first-degree criminal impersonation.

Police say they were at Larocca’s home for an investigation when Larocca flashed his wallet at officers and said he was a police officer. According to investigators, inside the wallet was a laminated police patch made to look like a badge.
