The Town of Greece is planning to make some upgrades to its police department and it is all in the name of keeping you safe in the 21st Century.

At an event Monday morning, Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich said the plan is to bring a new police headquarters to the town hall over the next two years. He says once debt from town hall is retired, money will be re-directed to pay for it.

Supervisor Reilich says the new headquarters would replace the station on Island Cottage Road, which was once a sewage treatment plant and not really designed to be a police station.

Supervisor Bill Reilich, Town of Greece, said, “We need a police station that can accommodate all the electronics and high tech information that a police officer deals with and this new facility will provide that.”

Under this plan, the station on Maiden Lane would stay put. News10NBC will continue to follow the progress of this project and bring you any new information.
