Break out the snow brushes and ice scrapers, winter isn't done just yet in New York state.

A cold front that swept across the region Tuesday has dumped 2 to 4 inches of snow in some areas of upstate New York. Roads and highways are clear Wednesday morning but commuters in the New York City metro area had to scrape ice from vehicles, while many upstate residents dealt with ice- and snow-covered vehicles.

The change in the weather has sent temperatures plunging from highs in the mid-60s on Tuesday to the 20s and even the teens in some upstate areas. The temperature in Saranac Lake in the Adirondacks dipped to 15 degrees before dawn.

Forecasters say the warm-up begins Wednesday, with temperatures climbing into the 40s and hitting the 50s by the weekend.
