News10NBC has learned what the city plans to do with the project for Charlotte. Mayor Lovely Warren has selected the $70 million proposal from developer, Edgewater Resources, out of Michigan.

The project will be phased in starting with expanding the marina at the Port of Rochester. Officials say a hotel, restaurants and retail and housing space will then be added.

Spencer Ash, Director of Business and Housing Development, said, “Picking a project that is transformative, that's an economic engine, that brings life and vitality to that community where it's beneficial to residents, it's beneficial to tourists, it's beneficial to visitors and really highlights one of our natural resources is a win for everybody.”

The plans aren't a done deal yet. The city is looking for feedback from you. The city will be accepting comments for next eight months.
