Teen injured after a head-on crash in go-cart

A teenage boy was sent to the hospital Thursday night after police say he was struck by vehicle on Austin Street while driving a go-cart.

According to Rochester police, the 14-year-old was driving a go-cart on the sidewalk heading south on the street when he swerved into the roadway and struck a northbound vehicle head-on.

The child was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Police did not issue any tickets at the scene.
