Facebook releases "nearby friends" feature

Created: 04/18/2014 9:03 AM WHEC.com

How would you like to know where your Facebook friends are any time of day? That's the goal of a new feature coming to Facebook.

It might sound like an invasion of privacy but Facebook says you should not worry. The new “nearby friends” feature is not a default setting, you have to opt in.

If you sign up, you'll get notifications whenever a friend is near you but we're told it does not give the specific location of your friend.

The feature will be on Android and iPhones in the coming weeks.
