A concert to benefit kids fighting cancer took place on Saturday at Fairport High School, but without the girl who originally came up with the idea.

Hannaah Metzler organized benefits for children fighting cancer all while battling brain cancer herself.  Hannah passed away last month.

The second annual “Crush Cancer” concert raised money for local kids battling the disease.  The proceeds will go to the Golisano Children’s Hospital’s “Bright Eyes” fund.

Another part of the proceeds will also go to a memorial fund that was setup in Hannah’s name.

“A lot of people loved Hannah, and she was my sister. She belonged to so many people, and she was a beautiful girl. We miss her very much,” said Luke Metzler, Hannah’s brother.

Saturday’s concert included performances from the U of R Yellowjackets and the Fairport High School a capella group.
