News10NBC has learned Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly will finish his treatment for jaw cancer here in Western New York.
Kelly’s brother Dan made the announcement to fans waiting for Kelly to fly into Buffalo Saturday for the Easter holiday.
Word first came Friday night that Kelly would return to Western New York for Easter.
Then, Saturday afternoon, Dan Kelly told fans his brother would be staying in home for longer than the holiday weekend.
Jim Kelly has been in New York City undergoing treatment for a recurrence of jaw cancer.
He's had chemotherapy and radiation.
Here's what Jim's brother had to say Saturday afternoon.
“We're very excited that Jim is coming home to Western New York for his treatments. He just landed a few minutes ago. I'll be picking him up and taking him for treatments and things, and we're excited to be home. He'll be under the same care he has been in the past. The remainder of these treatments will take place here in Western New York, and just really excited to be home,” said Dan Kelly.
