Driver crashes into bus stop at Wegmans

A man was taken to the hospital and a bus stop was smashed following an Saturday night crash in the city.

Police tell News10NBC that a 27-year-old male driver was traveling in the area of East Avenue and Winton Road around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night, when he drifted across the oncoming lane and went off the road.

The driver crashed into a bus stop structure on the north side of the road, according to police. When units responded, officers say the driver of the vehicle was semiconscious and he was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
