Big money is coming to the Rochester area to help children in need. On Tuesday, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced a federal grant for Action for a Better Community, worth about $6.5 million.
The funding will support the early learning and Head Start programs, which provide education and development for low income children. The organization has worked to empower families in Rochester and Monroe County to become self-sufficient since 1965.
