News10NBC has learned the Dollar Tree has pulled a number of toys from store shelves following a request from the governor's office.

Governor Cuomo was calling for a recall of "Clingy Darts".  Officials say the toy has more than six times the allowable limit of a chemical known as DEHP. It's used to make plastics and paints and experts say it can cause health defects.

Late Tuesday afternoon, Governor Cuomo released a statement thanking Dollar Tree for its quick reaction. He also said stores should not promote toys that contain dangerous chemicals.
