It could be called the “barn of the future.”  In honor of Earth Day, the Harley School held an official grand opening of its latest facility called The Commons.

The Commons is a place to learn about solar energy. School leaders say the goal is to have students from Pre-K to twelfth grade operate the facility with net zero energy use.

Ward Ghory, Harley School, said, “We thought we’d bring a barn into the future. So what we have here is a structure. One wall is a greenhouse and it's got solar chimneys.”

The facility is 15, 000 square feet.
