If you'd like to do something good for the environment this summer, the Canandaigua Lake Watershed Association has put out a call for volunteers to help cut back on "aquatic hitchhikers". Those are the invasive plant and animal species that could harm the lake's ecosystem.

Our news partners at the Messenger Post report that volunteers at state-run boat launches will inspect incoming boats for those species that often cling to the underside.
