Buffalo Bills Head Coach Doug Marrone revealed he had a cancerous mole removed during a recent doctor’s visit.

An error made on the Bills’ official website had social media buzzing Tuesday night. The organization says they are addressing the matter that had many wonder if Doug Marrone has cancer. On Tuesday night, an article was mistakenly posted on the team’s website. The headline was “Coach Marrone announces he has cancer.” He does not. The team removed the article from its website and later that night, Marrone released a statement saying he had a cancerous mole removed and that’s the end of the story. Marrone noted this will have no effect on his ability to coach the team.

News10NBC spoke with an oncologist at the University of Rochester for some insight about Marrone’s prognosis.

Marrone was back at One Bills Drive Wednesday leading voluntary workouts. The session was closed to the media.
