A 20-year-old man has pleaded guilty to rape, predatory sex assault and conspiracy to commit murder.
In June 2013, Marvin Sevilla-Rosales raped a woman in the front yard of an apartment building on East Avenue. Five days later, he raped a second woman in her Alexander Street apartment.
The Monroe County District Attorney’s Office says both crimes were violent and neither victim knew their attacker. Officials say after Sevilla-Rosales was identified and arrested, he plotted to kill one of the victims to ensure she would not testify against him.
Prosecutor Julie Hahn said, “What the defendant did to these two young victims is every woman’s nightmare. The streets of Rochester are most definitely safer with Marvin Sevilla-Rosales behind bars."
Sevilla-Rosales will be sentenced to 25 years to life in prison on May 28.
