A 37-year-old man is facing a slew of charges after an incident in Canandaigua Thursday night.
Police say they were called to Phoneix Street just before midnight for the report of a suspicious person. Investigators say they were able to locate the person, later identified as Michael Orbino, near Wally’s Pub and question him. Officers then detained him in a patrol car to investigate the possibility he had a weapon.
While Orbino was detained, police say he kicked and punched the doors and windows of the patrol car and demanded to be released. He was then charged with attempted criminal mischief and taken to the Canandaigua Police Department to be processed.
Once at the police station, officers say Orbino resisting the booking process by punching, pulling away from and ramming himself against the officers. He was additionally charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and two counts of harassment after police say he kicked an officer and tried to head butt another. No one was injured.
Orbino is currently being held in the Ontario County Jail pending arraignment.
