Making workplaces safer

Created: 04/28/2014 7:22 AM WHEC.com

Calling on the federal government to make workplaces safer for everyone. That's the goal of a memorial service today at Highland Park.

Labor leaders and community members will urge the Obama administration to toughen protections against things like toxic silica dust. There will also be a service remembering the men and women who were hurt or died on the job.

The event starts at 5:30 p.m. at the worker's memorial site which is near the lilac arches.
